Beauty - Mani of the Week

Ah here is another quick mani of the week for you. I wanted something a little festive! So Red and Green it was. Plus I found a tutorial for a cling film manicure to give a marbled effect. Although I think it looked more like a sand stone effect in the end! But I kinda like how it came out!
Green - Collection 2000, Hot Looks in Ninja from Superdrug
Red - Nails Inc in Tate from Boots.com
To get the effect all you need is your 2 colours and 10 cling film balls, just get a strip and scrunch it up. Then apply your base coat and let it dry fully. Then apply your top colour and press the cling film ball onto it, it needs to be firm but not too firm and do it in one movement, do not dab or move it around as it will just blur instead of making a splatter type pattern. Then top coat! I used a slightly glittery one from 17.

So what are your favourite polishes for this season? I am after one of the ones with big chunks of glitter in, but haven't managed to find one I like yet, any suggestions?

Outfit Post - Freezing my butt off on a roof top!

Just a little outfit post from my trip Ice Skating with Jon last week. It was the first time for me to properly wear my new Barretts boots! They have such an amazing selection of women's boots at the moment it was really hard for me to chose which ones to get. But I really wanted studded ones, as I have been fancying a pair for absolutely ages but just didn't have the money to get them, so I was super excited when Barretts decided to gift me a pair of my choice.

I also got to wear my new Stitch-Mi-Lane scarf! Isn't it amazing!! It has sausage dogs on it! It was handmade by an amazing knitwear designer called Stephanie Drake. Please check out her Big Cartel Knit Wear Shop, all her designs are so amazing. And this scarf is super cozy which was perfect for me when I was on the ice as it's a circle scarf - so no tassel ends (your not allowed them on the ice, incase people pull them!)
Dress: House of Fraser (It was on my wish list here!)
Boots: c/o Barretts
Tights: Random, probably Primark
Scarf: c/o Stitch-Mi-Lane
Gloves: Primark

On the Ice! I love skating actually. I'm not great, but I'm not bad either! I slipped ones after about 35mins on the ice but nothing after that.
Jon was mucking about saying he was going to come catch me when I took this! Thing is I'm much faster than he is, and far more stable! lol!

Anyone else been to a Winter Wonderland yet? We have lived here 6 years and this is the first Christmas we have actually made it there!

Monday Mail and ATC's - 17th December

It's Monday again! That means we are another week closer to Christmas, it's like 8 sleeps away now! Excited yet? Anyway as Christmas is almost here I have been swapping Christmas Postcards over on Swap-bot. So here are my lovely nice xmas post cards that I have received over the last 2 weeks! These have come from all over the globe, and add some great festive fun to my ever expanding Postcard Collection.
I've also been having lots of fun swapping ATC's again.
This amazing creation was part on an 'All Black' ATC swap I took part in, where you could only use things which were completely black on your card. I cannot believe how amazing this card I received was.
I also received these cards. The left and bottom are part of a 'Crafty ATC - Using Beads Swap', the top is from a 'My Favourite Film Swap' and the right is a 'Crafty ATC - Using Sparkles Swap'
And these are all the other fun goodies I received with my ATC's - going to have to put some of them to good use!

Now here are the ATC I created and have been sending out as swaps!

The above 2 are my 'All Black' creations.

The above 3 are all 'Crafty ATC - Using Beads Swaps'. But I made each to the liking of my swap partner.
These 2 are 'My Favourite Film' ATC's for 'The Devil Wears Prada'!

Have you received any fun mail recently? If you want a new penpal or fancy swapping with me just drop me an email.

Shopping - Just a little arm candy

Sorry for the total lack of post in the last two weeks, I've just managed to be super busy with work and Christmas stuff, so literally haven't had a spare moment to write anything - at all!

You all know I don't actually shop that much, it's surprising I know! I usually just buy second hand and online these days as money is pretty tight. And apart from the jumper last week I hand't bought anything in months. I just wasn't seeing much stuff I actually liked in the shops.

But I managed to have a nice tax rebate with my last pay so Jon said I should treat myself to a few little things. I'm still not hugely keen on many things on the high street in all honest, so I thought I could just pick up a few little accessories instead of something big.

I really like the simple leather/suede bangles with the charms in the centre that I keep seeing in the likes of Topshop and Urban Outfitters (and on a few of my fav bloggers) but as I'm still trying not to spend too much money (we started saving for a house deposit!) I went online and found a few on etsy instead!
So here are the ones I have bought that have arrived so far - I think I still have 2 to come, one with a cross and one with an infinity sign.
The anchor and Deathly Hallows are from a shop called Firegarden, (as is the bull necklace below). They were 63p each and £1.28 postage each - so pretty cheap!

This LOVE and Heart were from a shop called 99CARAT they were £5.56 including postage for the 2 of them

I also got this little bull skeleton head necklace from Firegarden as well, it was just really cool!

I'd been fancying a cute owl bag for ages! So for the little price of £5.83 and free postage I got myself one from this shop on ebay
I'm really lacking in winter jumpers too this year so I got the one above in the beige from this shop on ebay for £10.99. I wanted it baggy and oversized so I could put it over dresses and stuff.

Now I didn't buy these beauties myself but I did receive them as courtesy of Barretts! Expect to see them in an outfit post or 2 over the next week or so!

So there you have it my little haul from the past few weeks. Have you bought anything fun or interesting recently. I suppose most people are buying party outfits for xmas do's? Have fun!
