What is your name and where do you come from?

My name is Ella and I live in Pasadena, CA.

Is there a story behind the name of your store?

The inspiration for my store name came from the pub names in the UK.

How long have you been making your designs?

I've been designing and making children's special occasion clothing and accessories since 2004. I sell my designs online at www.foxnlily.com and created a profile on the Etsy website in 2010. My Etsy store is less formal and features mostly experimental, one-of-a-kind creations.

Do you have any formal qualifications for your craft or is it just a hobby?

I graduated from a European college in fashion design. Prior to starting my business in 2004, I worked in a bespoke clothing studio sketching designs based on customer requests, creating patterns and conducting fittings.

What is your favorite material to work with?

I like working with wool and vintage lace, but at the moment I mostly work with natural silks and linens.

Of your items, which is your favorite item and best seller?

On my Etsy site, my most popular item is the Olga design flower girl dress.

My favorite item is usualy the one that I'm working on at the moment. Currently I'm working on a small collection of unique ring pillows using 19th century lace scraps and tea-stained linens.

Where do you get your inspiration?

I get my inspiration mainly from antique stores, fashion magazines, travel photography, and my travels.

What are your plans for 2012? Any New Year's resolutions?

For 2012, I'd like to experiment with different vintage-inspired designs!

What's your favorite flower?

My favorite flower is the peony.
