Outfit Post - Bird Dress

Just another quick outfit post, this one is from my shopping trip with Jon last week. I think with this unpredictable weather this type of outfit has become my go to; Jeans, tunic (short dress), cardi or long sleeve top and my brogues. Simple and comfy, plus I have lots of pretty tunic style short dresses.

Jeans: Warehouse
Cardi: Vintage via Charity Shop
Shoes: New Look
Necklace: Swarovski

Anyone done anything fun today?

Outfit Post - Wearing 2 skirts!

An outfit from a few weeks ago...I know I should have posted it up before, but I'm useless you know that. I wore it to the St David's Ladies Night to do a bit of shopping.
It is actually a dress with a lace skirt over it because the skirt of the dress was a bit to short to wear to the event. But I wanted to make it a bit more modern so paired knee high socks and a sheer blouse.
Dress: Dorothy Perkins
Skirt: Primark
Shirt: Everything5Pounds.com
Socks: Primark
Shoes: New Look
Earrings: Handmade
Bangles and Brooch: Vintage
Green Bangle: China

So there you go another outfit post. What do you think? Did the socks work or not? I'm still not sure how I feel about them.

Hope your all having a good week so far!

Outfit Post - Moulin Rouge

Here is another of the photo shoots I did with Jon when we were at home a few weeks ago. I took the opportunity to wear my Vivien Of Holloway dress again, and this time it all turned a bit Moulin Rouge, as you will see.

It was totally pouring down so we were a little worried about where to go to take photos. We haven't been to Neath for a long time so went looking round to see where we could take photos under cover and remembered this little tunnel leading from the back of the station and industrial area to the town. Luckily no one was around so we managed to get some great fun photos taken!
Petticoat: Queen of Holloway on Ebay
Cardigan: Vintage
Belt: Vintage
Hairband: From Vintage fair
Shoes: NewLook
Tights: Random
Ring: Primark
Earrings: Claire's

This is where the Moulin Rouge took over! hehe!

Then a few shots in the church porch.

So there you go another outfit post!

On another note you may have noticed a bit of a re gig going on on the blog. I have a new header from a great photo Jon took and edited. A set of new buttons down the side bar on the left instead of my old link bar, which I think is much nicer. And a great little button for you all if you wish to share the love a little. I will also have some new pages soon, once I have finished typing them all.

What do you think? Do you like it? Do you think it looks better than my old one? I just thought it was about time for it all to be refreshed and tidied up a little. The new pages will have my reading list and blog love so the side bars will be cleaned up even more over the next few weeks.

But if someone can tell me how I would go about changing my title fonts to something a bit more fun and cursive I would love the help.

Oh and just for you all to know we did beat the Italians!!! Whoop! Now just the French on the 17th and we take the Grand Slam!

Events - The Gok Wan for Specsavers Launch

On Monday I was lucky enough to be invited to the Gok Wan for Specsavers Launch in Cardiff. And the man himself was going to be there to style a few competition winner and show off his new line of frames. Being a big fan of Gok's of course I jumped at the chance to go. He has shown women that you don't had ego be skinny to be beautiful and that feeling feminine, confident and sexual is far more important.
Here are a few press images of the line - they will be available nation wide from the 18th March and will be on 2 for 1! They are £99 a pair (or for 2 in this case) with PENTAX lenses included! That's a pretty good bargain if I am honest. He said how he wants his line to be affordable for all and available to the masses. So joining up with Specsavers was the best way to do this as they are the number 1 eye wear sellers in the UK and in many other countries.
And here is me! And what I wore!
Dress: Fearne Cotton c/o Very.com
Cardigan: Vinatge via charity shop
Shoes: NewLook
Tights: Random
Hairband: Random from Canada
Bangles and Necklaces: Random, Vintage and Dorothy Perkins

Some of the range on display
I really liked these! They are so strong and powerful looking.

Gok and me - possibly the worst shot of me ever! Typical!
And me trying on some of my favourite from the new line.
Pair 1: I think their a little too big
Pair 2: They were a lilac colour but feel a bit granny-ish on me
Pair 3: These are my favourites! I am contemplating getting them as I am looking for new glasses anyway, but Jon isn't a fan.

After styling all the competition winners and having a quick chat with a few press people Gok came down for a chat with the blogging girls that were there. And we got to have a great Q&A session with him, which they filmed for his You Tube and Facebook page (so you will see me pop up on there in a few weeks time)

Although we talked about the glasses range we also discussed his fashion line, his inspirations, his new TV shows, his feelings towards bloggers and the globalisation of fashion. He was very nice and friendly (not stuck up because he is a celebrity) and happy to talk to bloggers as he sees us an important part of fashion development and the success of new brands and lines.
from l-r: competition winner, Lianne of Bee1BlogQueen , Me, Gok, Laura of Side Street Style and my sister Briony. Louise from Lou Lou Muses, Gemma from Fat Frocks and Emily from Sugar and Spice were also there.
This is Julie-Anne one of the competition winners (who I had a nice chat with) having her consultation with Gok.
And this is her with her new Gok Wan glasses - he advised her to go with tortoise shell frames in a slightly large size than she usually wore and I think they look great on her. What do you think?
Gok Wan: Made in China airs tonight on Channel 4 at 8pm at looks at the manufacturing lines in China and his own chinese roots.

What are your opinion on Gok Wan? Are you a fan?

On another note entirely today is the last day to enter the Fashionista Giveaway so don't forget or you could miss out on £1000's of prizes!

Outfit Post - Afan Argoed Derelict Barn

Hello all! I shall apologise in advance as this is going to be a very image heavy post. Me and Jon took a trip home with the intention of taking some pictures of an old derelict building near our parents but ended up in Afan Argoed and stumbling on this old barn in the forest and were inspired to take some outfit shots. And Jon managed to get so many shots I love that I couldn't chose so there are like a million!! I'm sorry, just skip a few if you get bored! lol!
I have added some of the vintage effects on our new photo editing software to a few but all the rest are purely Jon!
This although the simplest photo is my favourite - what do you think of this as my new header? I think its time I had a change.
Dress: Eerything5pounds.com
Cardigan: Vintage via Charity Shop
Belt: Vintage via Ebay
Shoes: NewLook
Tights: Random
Hairband: c/o Stone Bridge
Necklace: Swapped
Earrings: Miso
Ring: Dorothy Perkins

Are you still there? Did you make it? Well I'm glad you liked them enough to make it to the end of them. The whole setting feels a bit Withering Heights to me, so I can see a photo shot with billowing fabric! Now just to find the outfit!

Did you enjoy them? I hope you did, we felt like we struck gold when we found the barn, I am so happy with the whole set! There were even more and if you want to see them all you will find them on my FB page.

Don't forget the Spring Fashionista Giveaway, you could win £163 of prizes on my blog and £1000's more on others
