Inspiration Monday and Shoe of the Week

Today is a double whammy on the challenge front - The ladies of Two Birds Blog gave us another 'Inspiration Monday' photo and Anja of A Heart and Soul Story started a new project called 'Shoe of the Week' and asked some of us bloggers to join in and style a specific type of shoe each week. This week she is covering Brogues.
So onto the outfit: This is this weeks 'Inspiration Monday' photo of Diane Kruger
And she looks hot! As with last week, I have nothing similar to the items she is wearing so I broke it down again.
Knee Length chiffon fabric skirt
Elbow length chiffon fabric blouse with chest detail
Thick black waist cincher
Black boots
Black bangle (you can't see it in this image, but I found it on another photo from the same night)
Slightly messed up up-do.

Here is my take:
Instead of wearing a blouse and skirt I chose a chiffon dress with similar attributes (the length, sleeves, fabric and chest detail). And as it's so warm here at the moment (and my boots are packed somewhere) and I am trying to include the shoe of the week I decided not to wear knee high boots, but to faux it with knee high socks and my brogues!

Dress: Primark
Belt: Vintage
Socks: Primark
Shoes: New Look
Bangle: Vintage/Handmade
My attempt at a mussed up up-do!
My Vintage Waist Cincher Belt
Here is my take on one of Alex Keller Design's, her Boho Wrap Bracelet which I adore. I made mine with a length of blue suede cord and a vintage gemini pendant I found in an old box of my grandmothers, she must have bought it for me when I was very young (she died when I was 5) as she wasn't a gemini and I am.
The 'shoe of the week' - Brogues
I actually decided to wear my hair down with this outfit.

So what do you think? Any good?
This weeks outfit was much harder than last weeks, and I'm not sure I really got it right, but it was my best attempt with what I currently have (lots of clothes are packed ready for the move)

Oh and here is a picture of my hubby with his bandaged hand! Why does he have a bandaged hand I hear you say? Well he was running across the road from the cash machine, tripped and punched the wall of the pub we were going to, he hadn't even had a drink yet. 5 hours in A&E later...one well bandaged broken hand.

  10. That is such a cute dress. I love the idea of black and white oxfords and knee high socks. That looks the feminine dress look trendy and cool. I like it with your hair down better.
Sorry about your husband's hand. That sucks.

  13. I love how you did the tall socks instead of boots idea. I think you translated the look well. It's so sweet that you found that pendant your grandmother had for you.
