Everybody, Everywear - Polka Dots

It's the day of the polka dots over on Everybody Everywear and anybody who is a long term reader of my blog will know I have a total addiction to polka dots in any colour or style. But I felt for this months challenge I should don my favourite piece of Polka Dot clothing, my 50's style polka dot dress!
Dress: Matalan
Cardigan: F+F at TESCO
Shoes: New Look
Owl Necklace: Internacional
Tights: Random
Hair Bow: Random

This dress was a bargain at only £16 from Matalan last summer, my hubby bought it for me!
Paired with my yellow rose cardigan from F+F at TESCO I think it keeps a sweet girly look.
I have worn this dress so many times, I love it, but I pair it with different cardigans and jackets and it seems to give it a total different look.

Go to the Everybody Everywear site to see all the other lovely ladies in this months challenge

London Day Trip Part 1

Finally some London picture. The other half decided we should dress up all smart for the trip, as a bit of fun. And we kinda blended in with all the smart business people, which was fun.

So here we are out side the houses of parliament and Big Ben
Dress: Matalan
Jacket: Dorothy Perkins
Shoes: J by Jasper Conran
Necklace: Vintage
And my honey looking like an election advert...Vote Cross-Jones for your next MP. lol!

So here is the first part of my photo tour of the V&A's fashion exhibition. This isn't all the pieces on exhibition, just a selection I liked. Sorry the photos aren't all that good, lighting was quite dark and everything is in perspex cases.
Tracy Emin 2004
I'm not a fan of her art, but this bag is kinda cool
A Wedding Dress dated 1830-33.
The bride must have been short as this dress was tiny.
Designed and worn by Gabrielle Chanel 1965
Barbara Hulanicki, designer of Biba 1970
Valentino Garavani, 1969.
I would wear this dress now, it is beautiful.
Ossie Clark 1971
Zandra Rhodes 1977
Both above maxis are stunning and wouldn't have looked out of place during this summer fashion.
Mary Quant 1967
The 'Piano Dress' by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel 1995
This party dress is just so cute, and I would happily wear it to a ball now.
Horrockses 1957
Catwalk inspiration, 1950's style

I still have another V&A tour post to go, which I will get up sometime on the week end.
Have a great weekend ladies.
I'm off out for drinkies and some food with my girlies

Outfit post - Juboraj Indian Restaurant

Last night we went out for a nice meal with my rents, my sister and my friend, Lindsey. (You may recognise her as one of my bridesmaids). The meal was lovely! And I should have a review up on it soon for anybody local.
Dress: Matalan
Cardigan: Fashion Union
Bag: Vintage via Etsy
Necklace: Aimi Boutique

Me, Briony and Lindsey
A curry looks like all other curries but the dessert was worthy of a picture. This is a Cool Mint Fling. A biscuit base, top with dark chocolate, a cool mint mousse (more like ice-cream) then smothered in a rich dark chocolate sauce. Served with vanilla ice-cream and drizzled strawberry sauce. It was so so yummy!

So that was my evening.
On to something else.

I thought I would bring you ladies a great voucher site. Sorry to say this is for british ladies only.
Ok the site is called Groupon and its very easy to use. You sign up for your area in the UK and every day they have a different offer available, plus they also have a main online voucher available to everyone. You pay for the voucher but get a larger discount than you usually would. So for example todays online voucher is for MyBag.com you spend £5 on the voucher and get a £25 voucher. So £20 free!! Thats pretty good, yeah? I have already bought mine and shall be buying the Yumi quilted heart bag with it. So the bag is only costing me £9 instead of £29!! Always good! hehe!
Anyway rambling now...just thought you all might like to know.

Outfit post - polka dot dress

I thought you might all be totally fed up with wedding photos so, I thought I should bring you a nice normal outfit post. This is from my pre-wedding party, held by my in-laws because we never had an engagement party.
This is my new bargain dress. Only £16 from Matalan and it's so cute! I love the 1950's silhouette with the fitted top and the flared skirt, and you all know I love polka dots!
Teamed with a bright red cardigan to add that bit of colour. Plus my new pocket watch necklace!

Dress: Matalan
Cardigan: Top shop
Shoes: George
Necklace: Aimi Boutique
Hair clip: Primark
Brooch and Bangles: Random

I have been cooking lots this week. Which is lovely, coz I love to cook and Jon loves to eat so I'm always happy when I can cook for him. I've made minted pork with smashed potatoes and peas and put my favourite wedding present, a bread maker, to good use already. I have made a lovely white bloomer and a chocolate and raison cake (which I shall be blogging tomorrow, as Jon helped with that and took photos of everything, literally everything, so I could blog the whole recipe, lol) Plus whilst typing this I am multi tasking and making a impromptu Shepard's Pie for dinner tomorrow. So I should go before I burn it!
