Outfit Post - My Heine Print Dress and New Hair

Hello! So I said I would show you my new hair a few days ago and I finally got around to taking some pictures this week after seeing Cirque Eloize at the Wales Millenium Centre, which by the way was brilliant!

So without further a do, here is the new hair!
What do you think? I've been wanting to dip dye my hair for ages and I finally took the plunge 2 weeks ago. It was done by Yana at CF24 Salon on Albany Road, but she had a real hard time bleaching my natural colour first. I was there for over 4 hours as the bleaching took 2 and a half! Mad! The colour is holding really well though so I haven't even had to re-dye it yet! I was just going to ombre it but I thought blue would be more fun!

Now on to the outfit: What do you think of my great new dress courtesy of Kaleidoscope? This Heine Print dress just called to me when I was scrolling through the site. I don't know whether it was the journalist in me that was attracted to that newspaper print sections or just the fact that the dress looked different to anything else I have seen on the high street recently.
I have had it about 3 weeks now and have been wearing it quite a lot. The jersey fabric is just so soft and cozy (and washes really well, in case your interested!) so I have thrown it on on a number of occasions and I always end up feeling smart and well dressed, without quite so much effort.

On this occasion I wore it with my big thick afghan coat (as it is freezing down the bay at the moment), thick tights and my beloved brogues! A perfect monochrome outfit!
Coat: Kit
Dress: c/o Kaleidoscope
Shoes: New Look
I've also tried wearing this with a waist cinched sequinned belt, blazer and heels, so cute and great for an evening out.
Kaleidoscope often has the connotations of being a middle aged catalogue but I was very surprised to find so many interesting pieces and many on trend items. They have tons of well prices occasion wear dresses for women of all ages and a great accessories range. Definitely worth a look next time you are doing some online shopping.

This is my current favourite item on the site.
I am having a total blouse thing at the moment, and am crushing on this sexy silky number

Hello, hello, hello

My oh my I have been away a while. I am very sorry about that, but the minute I got back from my honeymoon I was thrown into some ridiculous shifts at the pub, and have literally worked every day since we got back until this week. The last 5 days has been spent getting our lives back on track, unpacking the china stuff and all the christmas stuff and starting to get the house in order. But now that most of that is done I am back to my blogging. I think I may have needed the break though, was beginning to get a bit of blogger burn out after sorting lots of posts to run while I was on my honeymoon. I will be easing myself back in gently though so don't expect daily posts.

So as this is my first post back of the New Year I suppose I should do the mandator New Years resolutions.
Well to be honest I only have one and it's not a resolution, so much as a challenge. Quite a few bloggers have done this in the past so I thought it was my turn. I am going on a 365 day shopping ban, yep a whole year. And this one is serious. I started it on New Years day and it will last until New Years eve this year. I came to the realisation that I own far far to many clothes, so many so that half of them haven't even been worn in the last year. So for a whole year I will be on a shopping ban (excluding black trousers and shoes for work, as they don't last a year in the pub) and if (when!) I succeed my parents and husband have agreed that they will buy me a Vivienne Westwood dress as a reward. I think a whole year of no shopping is worth it for a Westwood dress, don't you? I am allowed to accept gifts for my birthday etc (or if anybody fancies sending me stuff!!) and I am allowed to swap items (so if anyone fancies a swap drop me an email) But I am not allowed to buy anything fashion related at all.

Ok so now that I am on a shopping ban I have also decided that I will be going through ever item in my wardrobe and trying to work them into an outfit or get rid of them (major clearout so you will be able to find items on ebay). My hope for this year is to build up to doing daily outfit shoots and putting all of my wardrobe to better use. I will hopefully be getting a new job at some point this year, and a 9 to 5 job will mean lots of time to blog and being able to wear normal clothes!! Yay.

So that being said, here is my first outfit post of the year. It was taken just after Christmas in the snow.
Jacket: Kit
Scarf: Republic (won via The Shopping Forcast)
Bag: George at ASDA (via PDSA charity shop)
Cutoffs: New Look (via Cardiff Clothes Swap)

Waistcoat: H&M
Boots: South
Gloves: Vintage

Snowball!!!
He didn't find it so funny, hehe

And one with the hubby! All wrapped up in his ski jacket and beanie!

So hello ladies, it's glad to be back!

Remember that vintage dress??

Do you remember that vintage dress I posted about a month ago, the one that needed shortening? Well it got shortened, and I was able to wear it over Christmas so here are the pics. Im really pleased with how it looks now, and was overjoyed when I found a pair of genuine vintage Mary Quant tights in my stocking!! I knew they would work so well with the dress.
Dress: Vintage
Belt: Borrowed from sis
Tights Vintage Mary Quant
Necklace: beads from Primark, brooch on necklace Vintage
Shoes: Jasper Conran (I know I have worn them in all 3 of my last outfits, but it was icy and I didn't want to go flying in heels!!)

Kept warm with my wonderful Afghan coat from Kit Clothing and Trilby from Primark (I love Trilbies!!)
Plus my new bag I had for Christmas, from a random stand in the middle of a shopping center, so my mother informs me!

So today was about a little bit of shopping and working in the pub (although I got to finish early as we were really quiet). I went to Primark to pick up some stuff for the swap I am doing with Patty Ann and some stuff for crafting/selling. (If you fancy doing a clothes swap with me, just drop me and email to daisymay_chantele at hotmail.com) It was busy there but no busier than usual really, but I managed to get some really cute bows to craft with and some really nice stuff in the sale. I called into Waterstones to spend the voucher I had for Christmas. I wanted the Twiggy book but it is all out of stock, so I am going to wait a little and see if it comes down in price before ordering it.

So who is looking forward to tomorrow night? What is everyones plans? As you have probably guessed I shall be working, but at least I get New Years Day off, and we get loads of free drinks after work, so I don't mind too much. Then from Sunday I have a whole blissful week off. Yay! It shall be spent reading, watching DVD's we got for xmas, playing with my sewing machine, finishing wedding invitations, making some jewellery and possibly working on launching an etsy/blog shop.

Now some news, I have at least 4 competitions lined up for next year all ready. The first will be starting on New Years Day, so remember to check back then to see what wonderful prizes I have for you all to win! You won't be disappointed, I promise!

Good Night!
