Outfit Post - Work's Christmas Do

So we had an unconventional works Christmas do in the sense that we went to the HangFire BBQ instead of for a traditional Christmas Lunch. The dress code was Christmas themed Jumpers (or tops!) So I said if I really had to wear one (I'm not into xmas fashion in all honesty) then it would be a comical one instead. This is what I wore!

My pudding T-shirt went down well with everyone, and Shawna who runs the BBQ thought it was hilarious!
Top - Amazon
Blouse - via the Clothes Show Live
Skirt - Primark
Tights - TKMaxx
Shoes - Tesco
Hat - H&M
Necklace - Funky Laser
 Mandatory Christmas Cracker Paper Hat
Shawna had decided that everyone who had xmas lunch at the HangFire BBQ had to do a chaser shot called a Pickle Back - First a shot of Pickling Liquor (for pickling gherkins!) chased down by a shot of honey infused bourbon. This is Nate about to do his, he actually did 2 as he liked it, lol!
And here is the amazing food!! Pulled BBQ pork, Braised Beef Brisket, Herbed Turkey, Jacket Potato with smoked cheese, Bread Roll, Roasted Pepper stuffed with home made stuffing, Apple Beetroot Slaw and Meaty Chilli Beans (these are bloody amazing!!) It was all so good, I couldn't even finish it all (Nate ate the rest of my turkey! lol!)
My secret santa obviously knew me quite well (Thank you Sarah! Lol)
Our Mascot Frosty even came along for the fun, and Kenny came all the way back from Vietnam! (He now works there, but was home for Xmas so joined us for the fun!) And that is Fi!

So all in all it was a really good, fun night!
How was your Christmas Party? Did you have one with your work place too?

Review - Zalando Collection Gold and Navy Jumper

Now I have to be totally honest, I hadn't heard of Zalando before they got in contact with me to ask me to review one of their items. As I didn't know what type of clothing they stocked the first thing I did was jump on the site. I was amazed by how massive it is! And not just for womens wear, they stock mens, kids and home wears too. How did I not know of their existence, am I the only one?
Anyway, I had a good nose around the site and decided that I wanted a jumper as the winter was coming, and I literally own 3 that fit! It took me a while to make a finally decision but in the end I went for this Zalando Collection Gold and Navy one. I loved the bold, almost art nouveau pattern on it, and I have nothing even remotely similar in my wardrobe. My only concern was if the gold threads might be itchy. You know that metallic threads can sometimes be a bit more harsh on the skin, they can be scratchy, well I worried that these might be similar.
But after wearing it a few times I noticed that it only itched my on my inner arm, by my elbow joint, and after 2 washes even that has almost completely gone. So I am pretty please. I love the jumper! I find it quite versatile, last time I wore it over a black mini dress to an event, and this time I paired it with vintage trousers to go out shopping with my mum and sis.
Trousers: Vintage (via YMCA Charity Shop)
Boots: c/o Shoe Zone
Here is the pattern up close, Isn't it pretty? It comes in Black and White too!

Have you heard of Zalando? Have you ever bought anything from them?

Outfit Post - Courtesy of French Connection

Recently French Connection got in touch and asked if I would like to try out something from their new winter collection, of course I jumped at the chance. I love French Connection style, they are contemporary, modern and chic. Sadly I can't usually afford their items, so I only have 2 pieces in my current wardrobe - but now I can make that a firm 3 with the addition of this awesome Salt N Pepper Coatigan
I have literally fallen in love with it, pretty sure it has been worn every day since it arrived last week! It is great for throwing on over jeans and a t-shirt when nipping out to get the hubby from work, or equally good for wearing over my semi formal evening dress to keep me warm when going out for a meal. It has been my go to over the top items for all occasions this past week; theatre, meal out, dance class, trip to the shops and even boxing match photo gig! It is heavy enough that I can wear it instead of a jacket, but light enough that it is easier to carry than a jacket if I need to. It is so cuddly and cozy that I just enjoy snuggling in it.
Jeans: Warehouse
Tunic Dress: Topshop
Shoes: TESCO
Earrings: NewLook

Believe me you will be seeing this in lots of outfit posts in the future, as it goes with pretty much everything I own!
It also come in a jumper too!
What do you think of French Connection? Are you a fan?

Outfit Post - John Lewis Christmas Event Outfit

Well here is the outfit post from the John Lewis Christmas PR Event I blogged about yesterday. I didn't want to look to eveningy or to casual, so I potted for my new Zalando Jumper over a dress with some nice warm knee high boots. And this was how my hair turned out after the Kamagata team had curled it using the new Babyliss Pro Curler, it didn't really hold very well sadly, so all the cute curls had fallen by the time I got home!
Jumper: c/o Zalando
Dress: Dorothy Perkins
Hat: H&M
Tights: TKMaxx

Loving my new winter boots from Shoe Zone! They have sherling lining so are nice and warm and cozy! Plus really comfortable!

Outfit Post - Mr Style #2

The boy is often complaining how unfair it is that I sometimes get gifted clothing items to try out and style for the blog and he never gets anything, then I got contacted by Surfdome.com. They stock brands like Converse, Superdry, Dr Martins, Diesel and Rip Curl, to name but a few, so I thought they would be the perfect store to get something for Jon to try out instead of myself.

He was very happy to hear he was going to be able to chose a free item from the site, and Surfdome were pleased that they were getting a menswear review instead of a womenswear one that they would with most bloggers, so it was a win win! Jon decided he would like a new t-shirt as he would get lots of wear out of it, so he set to work looking through the entire site for something he loved. The site has a huge selection of clothing for men (women and kids too) so there were lots of items he liked, there is literally something for everyones tastes! He eventually chose the Van's Headress t-shirt, you can find the Van's range here
Jon loves it, so has worn it a few times already, this is him on our little trip to Bath this week!
 Jon is wearing:
Vans Headdress T-Shirt to be found at Surfdome
Jeans from Matalan
Boots from Catapillar
The t-shirt is really nice up close, the motif is fun and bold in the bright yellow on the black background. Jon likes shirts that are a little different and isn't really a fan of tops that have brand names right across the front so this one was perfect, the brand is just on the sleeve, but it still has a great front motif. The fabric is 100% cotton so is lovely and soft, but I am happy to report it has been washed and has kept the shape, the colour is perfect and the motif hasn't budged (unlike the last Mr Style post I did!) And it retails for just £19.99 which is really reasonable for a quality mens t-shirt!

Do you know of any other great online sites for quality menswear?
Have you used Surfdome before?

Outings - Gromit Unleashed

Some of you may have heard about the Gromit Unleashed event happening in Bristol this past 2 months, or you may have seen some of my Twitter posts from when we went, but for those of you who have no idea what I am on about here it is! The creators of Wallace and Gromit teamed up with Bristol Children's Hospital to put on a big charity event to raise money for the hospital. They had 80 5ft tall Gromit statues made and gave them to 80 different people to decorate, they ranged from local artists, celebrities, design companies and many others. Then they placed them all around Bristol for 10 weeks, after the event they intend to auction them off to raise even more money! It is a totally genius idea and was brilliant fun to see.

So me and Jon took a trip to Bristol before our little holiday and went Gromit hunting. We managed to find 21 out of the 80 whilst we were there, this is who we found: (Warning picture heavy post, but its fun!!)

Isambark Kingdog Brunel by Tim Miness

Outfit details:

Boots: Firetrap
Coat: Primark

We had a great day and wished we could have fitted in a few more but it would have taken a few days to get round them all as some were a little further out of the city. We bought the app so we had the map, 75% of the cost went to the charity appeal. The auction is to take place on the 3rd October but if you still want to see them they will all be in the Royal West of England Academy from the 18th to 22nd September.

Did anyone else make it to see the Gromits? Which one is your favourite?
Have you seen any other exhibitions like this?
