Westwood Wednesday - She does it for the rainforest!

Dame Vivienne Westwood and Marie Claire have joined forces, to launch an exciting global project that both drives awareness of deforestation and influences the current trend of up-cycling your clothes.

Vivienne Westwood has designed a limited edition T-shirt dress exclusively for Marie Claire international readers. All proceeds from the sale of the T-shirt dress will support the forest tribes in Bangladesh, whose lives and livelihoods have been endangered by deforestation.

This global collaboration will combine the sale of the T-shirt dress with a special Rainforest editorial section (Guest Editor, Vivienne Westwood), which will be published in the Marie Claire May 2011 edition. To produce and sell the T-shirt dress online Marie Claire and Vivienne Westwood have partnered with the Fair Trade organisation People Tree. People Tree only uses 100% organic fair trade cotton and all their clothes are made entirely by hand, helping to create livelihoods for disadvantaged groups in Bangladesh, India and Nepal.

Buy this Vivienne Westwood Limited Edition T-shirt dress for only £28 from www.peopletree.co.uk and £7 from each sale will help support Forest Tribes

I'm a little unsure about the hemline but I love the print on it.

Westwood Wednesday

And last up of my Vivienne Westwood Catwalk Collection Look Books - The Anglomania Collection! This is definitely her most edgy and modern collection of the 3 but it still has some amazing items. As normal click on the images to enlarge.

This dress is amazing, the silhouette is perfect, my 50's style dream.
I adore 5, 10 and 19.
The jacket in 6 is stunning and 15 and 17 are so simple and elegant.
This dress is so wearable and such an eye catching colour

Which outfits are you loving?
Plus now you have seen all 3 look books, which collection is your favourite?

I have no idea what I shall be posting next week now that I have shown you these. Any suggestions on a Westwood themed post. Anything you would like to see or know?

As I promised last week, here is the Vivienne Westwood Gold Label Catwalk Look Book. This is her slightly more 'way out', Couture collection. There are still some stunning items though, including the dress I liked from the store! Plus another few dresses in the same tartan which are equally as stunning. Click the images to enlarge for a better look.

Check out outfit 22 and 43 here!
Check out 6, 27 and 46 here.
Nearly all of these are stunning 13-15 all the middle row and 55, amazing!
36-39 are so hot!

Next week the Anglomania collection.

Would you wear a piece of this collection? Which is your favourite look?

Westwood Wednesday

Last week I showed you my photos from my visit to the Vivienne Westwood Store in Leeds and I promised I would show you the Catwalk Collection Look Books I was given by the lovely sales assistants. Well Jon bought us a brand new fancy scanner/printer/photocopier so I thought I would scan in all the Look Books for you to have a nose at. As I have all 3 of the collections Look Books I figured I could space this out into 3 posts not to image overload you in one go.
So up today is The Westwood Red Label collection - this is my favourite collection as it includes more of her tailored suits and wearable items. Just click the images to enlarge them.

The trousers in outfit 2 are amazing and the suit in 5 is perfect. Number 24, 42, 44 and 45 are so hot!
Outfits 6-8 are so well tailored. 27 and 47 are stunning fabrics and 30's collar is awesome.
11-15, 32, 34 and 35 would all be so great for the summer and 51 and 52 are super sexy.
Fancy fabrics here 18, 20, 36, 39 and 40 and the shirt in 57 is so chic.

Up next wednesday the Gold Label Collection!

Westwood Wednesday

I know I haven't put up a Westwood Wednesday post in a while because I have been so busy, but this week I have the perfect reason to have a Westwood post. On my trip up to Sheffield I had an hour long stop in Leeds. Now never having been to Leeds before I thought I would do a quick google to see what was near the bus stop. And lo and behold....A Vivienne Westwood Shop!! I have never been to a Westwood shop before, even though I am such a big fan, I have never had the opportunity before. So I shot off the bus the minute we stopped in Leeds in search of my dream!

So here are my pictures from my little visit. Sadly you aren't allowed to take photos within the store (I did ask the very nice man there!) but here are some pictures of the window displays. The lovely man also gave me the 3 look books for this season collections (which are amazing!) and I shall scan/photograph them for next weeks post. I had a nice chat with the 2 sales people and I gave one my card and he said he would take a look on here, so if your reading Mr Westwood Sales Man, HELLO!

This is my dress! Not my actual dress, lol, sadly, but this is the dress I wanted! Isn't it sweet! Pity its £635! They also had 3 dresses from her couture collection which were totally stunning and amazing. All floral fabrics and floaty and just so beautiful. But at around £2000 each, way out of any budget I will ever have.

So there you are, a pretty impressive Westwood Wednesday this week, if I do say so myself. I would advise anyone to visit the store if they happen to be in Leeds.

Emily Blunt dazzles in silver

Nigella Lawson working the bombshell dress

Leona Lewis Rock Chick Glam

Dita Von Teese stunning in red

Helena Bonham Carter being her crazy self?

Posh Pooches? Fancy spending $5,084 on a pet coat, Westwood style!
