Trends - How to wear Vintage like a Fashion Blogger

Seeing as my last 'Dress like a Fashion Blogger' post went down so well I thought I would do another for you all. As my last outfit post was vintage themed I figured I should carry that trend on! Plus I am a big fan of adding vintage pieces to your wardrobe to help make it more individual. And I know many fashion bloggers feel the same! Sadly getting hold of good vintage pieces in the UK can be quite hard, and it is far easier in the States, but if you keep an eye out on sites like eBay and at charity shops and carboot sales you are bound to find something you like. Just make sure it is in reasonable condition (vintage can sometimes be slightly damaged, but you don't want to fork out on something if it has too much damage to it) or something you can alter to fit/fix if you need to.

So here are some of my favourite blogger outfits including vintage items!
Natasha from So On Trend wears a reworked vintage maxi dress which looks great on her petite frame with the modern accessories
Lyddie from Chic on the Cheap has some great vintage finds in her wardrobe, and this striped dress is one of them. If your new to vintage clothing, look for pieces that have a modern feel to them, you couldn't tell this dress wasn't from the current hughstreet, yet no one else will be wearing it!!
Alice from Pop Culture and Fashion Magic dresses her vintage B&W skirt with a lovely lacy blouse and great monochrome accessories for a chic fresh outfit
Elaine from Clothed Much looks great in this modest vintage dress, sometime the items need to speak for themselves, so if it's bold keep the accessories simple
Timbo from Timea Timbo does vintage in the most popular way - vintage denim! This keeps you looking on trend at any time of year, but vintage shorts (self-made from jeans or bought as are) are especially hot!
Noelle from Noelle's Favourite Things goes vintage with a classic vintage bag. Vintage items were often made to last, so look out for good quality accessories that will last you for many more years.

So there you have it, a few great ways to wear vintage items and look incredibly stylish. How do you like to wear your vintage? Do you have a look you would like to share?

Outfit Post - Vintage Outfit on the Norfolk Broads

I haven't done a properly photographed outfit post in ages as me and Jon just haven't had any time to get out recently, but the holiday gave us the perfect excuse and the perfect location!!

We were on holiday, boating on the Norfolk Broads last week and stopped in a lovely little pub called The Bridge Inn in a village called Acle. To get to the village from the pub you had to take a 1.5mile walk along a country path. It was so beautiful on our walk during the day we decided to take another little walk as the sun was starting to set and take some quick pictures. My 70's vintage dress was the perfect outfit to compliment the country setting!
Warning this is a picture heavy post, but I hope you like them!
 Dress: Vintage by Cross Roads
Shoes: Deichmann
Necklace: Vintage Brooch, handmade into a necklace
Sunglasses: Roxy (won from Specsavers competition!!!)
Watch: Vivienne Westwood

The above is my favourite picture of the day, I really love the light and the almost film look to it.

I won these Roxy Sunglasses from a Specsavers Twitter competition (and a quicksilver watch for Jon!)!! They also sent me a voucher so I could get prescription lenses put in them, which has been amazing this last few weeks, so nice to see clearly without having to fiddle with my contacts. I wasn't sure I was going to like them, because the frames are blue which isn't really me, but after wearing them a few times I totally love them! The shape and style remind me of Ray-Ban Wayfarers, don't you think? And it turns out the blue works really well with my fair skin, and is more interesting than my usual black or tortoiseshell.

So what do you think? Do you like my first set of proper outfit photos in ages!! I would really like to start doing them more often again,  but life has a tendency to get busy and I just don't have much time, but we will try!!

Has anyone else been on holiday recently, or going on holiday?

Outfit Post - A little Retro outfit!

Here is just a quick outfit post from last week - sorry about the rubbish quality of the pictures I hadn't realised they were grainy till I uploaded them on here, they were just taken on the iPhone but it was pretty dark although it doesn't look it.

Anyway this is my little 70's dress, which I bought on eBay a few years back and totally love, especially in the hot weather as it is a really thin chiffon, so I wear a strappy slip under it as I'm not into having my underwear on show! lol!
 Dress: Vintage Crossroads via eBay
Shoes: Shoe Zone
Necklace: Vintage brooch turned into necklace by me
Hair Clip: Primark
This necklace is made out of a vintage copper brooch that belonged to my Nanna and a piece of suede cord I bought from eBay. I think it goes to well with this dress because the colours really work together and the dress has an autumn pattern to it.

How has everyones week been? I'm silly busy at the moment, still not got the work/home balance quite right due to now having to commute an hour to work 3 times a week, but I am sure I will get there at some point.
