Vogueing it up!! And Teatime Jewellery!

I went for my very first proper wedding dress fitting today (twas very exciting!!). The amazing dress maker, Julie Mayers (from Silk in Skewen)has done some awsome sketches for mine and the bridesmaids dress, and found stunning material which is going to be perfect, so I'm very very pleased. But she also had some big exciting news for us!! Drumroll please... one of her One-of-a-kind bespoke evening dresses was spotted in cardiff by someone who works for Vogue!! And they asked if Julie wanted to have an ad piece in the December issue!! Yay! So my dress maker will have been in Vogue, hehe!! Excitment (again!) So after getting all that off her chest she finally got around to measurement taking. Although I still hope to shed a few more pounds by the wedding, she is boning and corseting all the tops to make us all look super slim and sexy. Here is the Pixie dress!! Worn by its rightful owner.

So here is todays outfit! (Not quite as exciting as the Pixie dress!! Sorry)

Red Dress: TKMaxx
White ruffle blouse: H&M
Leggings and Bangles: Primark
Red bead necklace, 2 Gold Chains: All Vintage!
Wrap-around Waist Belt: Matalan (came with another dress)
Worn with black pumps (borrowed from my mother)

Finally my Teatime Jewellery.
I don't think I have mentioned before but I love to make my own jewellery. I use new beads and findings or I upcycling or recycling old ones, the latter being my favourite! So when I was out in Canada this summer I found some rather cute dolls house pieces and decided they would make awsome jewellery. Today I finally got around to putting the piece together and here is the finished outcome.
Pictures aren't great as my camera didn't want to focus properly on them (can't wait till I can afford a nice new digital SLR!!!) Made from metal dolls house teapot and teacups, plus some brown 'teadrops'. I love the outcome and it looks so cute on!! Shall be looking for some more dolls house pieces I think.
Thats all for tonight
Let's see what tomorrow brings!

True Blood Lust... and today's outfit!

I am totally in love with True Blood at the moment. Me and the other half are downloading it to watch, so I'm halfway through the second season at the mo. But in one of the last episodes I saw I really loved Sookies outfit! So I have done a bit of internet trawling and found that the cute cardigan is from Delia, which unfortunately we don't have in the UK, but even if we did it is last seasons stock and no longer avaliable. Whats gutting is that it was down to $9.99!! I know I can get a cute yellow skirt so am now looking for a version of the cardigan. (What's weird is that I usually don't like overly done floral prints at all, but love this one!)

TODAYS OUTFIT (Plus a new buy!!):

I originally went out wearing this necklace which is vintage. I love the emerald colour and the bicone shape. Plus I had it from a carboot so it cost less than a quid (Bargain!!)

I matched it with these cheap Primark bracelets in a similar colour.

But while I was out shopping I decided to spend a voucher for Topshop that I had for my birthday. I found this stunning two coloured metal necklace. It a really chunky piece and I love it. So I switched necklaces and wore the new one for the rest of the
day.

So apart from the accessories I actually wore this stunning 1950's inspired wrap dress by Zara. I managed to get this from the Cardiff Clothes Swap Roadshow last month. Was so chuffed when I realized it was my size!! It has a really full skirt and a big black wrap-round tie. I love the funky retro print material too.

So thats todays outfit!
Lets see what tomorrow brings!

What I'm wearing today

I'm not keen of photos of myself on my blog but from time to time I though I would post my outfit for that day (especially if I'm proud of it!) So here is todays, from head to toe!!

I had on my cute little red bow head band from Claires Accessories.

I was wearing two necklaces. The red one is vintage and was my aunts from the 60's and the white one is a modern one I had from a Big Wardrobe swap.

My bracelets are both from Primark!!

Ok so onto the main part. My skirt is the statement of this ensemble. Its vintage from Saphia, but I bought it off Ebay! (God I love Ebay bargains!). Because its very loud I decided to pair it with a plain black T-shirt with ruffled sleeves from Bianca Nigard.

I love my little shoes, from Office, so they are slightly worn on my toe but are very very cute.

Lets see what tomorrow brings!

I have to see a vicar about a wedding!!

Today me and the other half went to see the vicar for the first time about all the official wedding arrangements, got very excited. I wasn't nervous or scared because the vicar is an old friend as she was my teacher for most of primary school before she was ordained. It was so nice to see her again as I haven't seen her since she transfered to another parish, but is still happy to marry us in my church.

Anyway I thought I would share that bit of excitement with you before posting my real post for today.
Below is one of my most prized possession which I have had since my birthday in May but as this is a new blog I thought I would post it now as I think some of you might appreciate it. I am a lover of wacky and wonderful bags (amongst other things) and own a car and teapot already, but my parents had heard me talking about this stunning little number and bought it for my 22nd birthday (I could never have afforded it myself). Its a replica of Carries from SATC.
Here is mine:

Below is Carries (by Timmy Wood) and I think mine is a rather good replica, but I have seen other replicas which are awful (the Topshop one!!!)

So thats that! Lets see what tomorrow brings!
