Event - New Hair and Beauty Panel at Belle Toujours

I shall keep you in suspense for just a little longer on the new hair cut as I want to tell you about the beautiful salon I went to to have my hair cut. I was very lucky to be asked to be part of a beauty panel at the stunning Belle Toujours salon in Pontcanna one evening last week. I was one of 4 Cardiff blogging girls at the event, I was joined by Charli of Charli Dot Dot Dot, Mia of By Mimi and Louise of Lou Lou Muses.

First of all the outside of the salon is quite understate but it is in one of the impressive Cathedral Road buildings. Once you step inside though it is a different matter. The decor is stunning, it has been given such attention to detail, with a beautiful black and white pallet in the main salon, nails room and barber, but a great rich decadent gold and purple style in the spa rooms.

The spa room has 2 beds so can be used by 2 girls having a bit of a ladies pamper session or a couple wanting a romantic relaxing massage together.
The whole of the interior has such a high end feel to it, but the staff are so lovely and inviting that general public (like me!) don't feel out of place, plus the prices were no higher than my local salons which are no where near as beautiful as this place.
The beautiful Mia with her freshly facialed (new word there!) face and styled hair

We were then taken to a private room at Jolyons to discuss what we thought about the salon/spa and the treatments we had received. Of course we gave glowing reviews as we were all incredibly pleased with the beautiful salon and the even better treatments we had all received.
 (How awesome are those chairs!)
We had a bit of anti-pasti too!

So finally ladies, if you haven't spotted it on Facebook yet, here is the new hair!
Yep it's lots shorter, but after all the bleaching and dying on my tips I thought it would just be better to cut it all off and start again.
First I had a K-Pak treatment, which I had never heard of before but I swear is the best thing that has happened to my hair in years! It is so light and silky smooth, it is glowing I swear! I then had it cut and styled by the lovely and friendly Lauren one of the stylist at Belle Toujours. I had already told the PR girl Shakira that I wanted a change of look and Lauren made me feel quite comfortable and happy with letting her lop off around 6 inches of it! She did a great job and now it is all sleek and shiny!
I want to say a massive thank you to everyone at Belle Toujours as I had an amazing night and I really love my new look! I really would advise anyone local to Cardiff to try out this salon for any of your beauty treatments, men included as the barbers area as just as impressive. I'm tempted to go back for my nails at some point in the future too!

So what do you think of my new do? Think the shorter hair suits me, be honest?
Has anyone else tried Belle Toujours yet?

Outfit Post - I dyed my hair!

I got bored, I dyed my hair. End of story!
Ok so it's not all bright and whacky this time, I felt like a change so I just put the Schwarzkopf Live XXL in Mystic Purple over all of it. My natural hair has a slight shine to it and where my tips where bleached is now a plumy colour, it doesn't show up as well in pictures, but it is super shiny and it looks really nice when the light hits it. I'm happy for now, but lets see how long that lasts.
 Outfit:
Jeans: Warehouse
Top: Nygard Collection
Blouse: Dorothy Perkins
Hat: H&M
Necklace: Bijou Bridgette
That's all for today, just thought a fashion catch up was in order. I actually bumped into a few people who read my blog and they were like 'oh my god, you dyed your hair, that wasn't on your blog' (you know who you are!) so I thought I should let you all know as I did it about 2 weeks ago! Bad blogger!

30 for 30 - Day 4 & Everybody Everywear - The Blazer

So I am gonna have to make this a mega quick post as I am on my way out the door to work, and if I don't sort the post out now (Monday Night) I won't have time before tomorrow. I decided to roll two challenges into one post and use one outfit with just a little difference.

First up my 30 for 30 Day 4 outfit (I apologise for my creased skirt but this was a quick shot taken before packing the outfit and I assure you it was ironed before it was actually worn out of the house)
Outfit made up of: 4+13+22+26
4. I.N.C
13. Nygard Collection
22. F+F
26. TKMaxx
+
Random Leggings
Random Feather and bead necklace
Random Ring
Hair band from Canada
Some pattern mixing as you can see. I have been wanting to pair these 2 items together for a while but just hadn't gotten round to it. I think the strong flower motif on both makes them work well together. Plus I don't own a lot of yellow so think it's great the two piece work with each other. I think I could also do this outfit with a plain white tank top in the summer, when it is a little warmer.

Now for my second part. This months Everybody Everywear item was - The Classic Blazer. I didn't put one in my 30 for 30 - so this doesn't count as a 30 for 30 outfit but I am using the basic items with the blazer. This is how I change my look very simply from casual to business. Drop the cardigan, necklace and bow hairband - pull on a smart black blazer and don my glasses and voila... a chic business look
Blazer - River Island
Brooch - Vintage

This was worn to a business meeting with my new editor.

Ok so thats all, coz if I don't leave now I'm gonna miss my bus.
Hope you like my outfits for both the challenges. What would you pair my skirt or cardigan with? Any suggestions?

30 for 30 - Day 3 & Going Red for Women

Here is my Day 3 of the 30 for 30 challenge, plus today is the Going Red for Women day (the whole month is heart disease awareness month but a few of us have decided to 'Go Red' today, find us all here).
So the point was to wear red to help raise awareness of Heart Disease. Here is my red accented outfit! I will hopefully be doing this every friday of February, but I only have this waistcoat with Red on in my 30 for 30 so will have to style it 3 different ways!
Outfit made up of: 10+13+20+24+26
10. M&S Limited Collection
13. Nygard Collection
20. H&M
24. Debenhams Collection
26. TKMaxx
+
Vintage red bead necklace
Red bangles via ebay
Internacionale Red Bow Ring
Claire's Red Hairband

I wore this little ensemble to the theatre tonight. I went to see the Circus of Horrors with my sister. It was good, weird and slightly sickening but actually not as good as I thought it would be. A little disappointing actually, but I did enjoy it.
Has anyone else seen any of The Circus of Horror shows? What were your thoughts? Or is anyone thinking of seeing them?

Plus is anyone else doing the Going Red for Women challenge?
