Outfit post

Here is a quick outfit post of yesterdays outfit. Sorry I haven't posted any for a while but I've not been wearing anything interesting really.
Dress: vintage (ebay)
Jumper: Primark
Tights: random
Boots: random
Belt: Primark
Earrings: Made by my mum

This is one of the vintage dresses I recently bought off ebay. I adore it the pattern is so pretty. Its a really thin material though so I layered it with the jumper, for a much better winter look. Problem is that at first I thought the dress was in perfect condition as it was listed as so, but after closer inspection I realised that it has a number of small holes in it around the back of the skirt. It is so annoying when sellers lie about their items! Its not as if she wouldn't have known as there are quite a few! Anyway luckily they are at the back and because the skirt is black when I wear tights they can't really be seen.

Alphabet city - I

I have another photographer for this post, he is one of my favourites. He was kind of the first big fashion photographer employed by Vogue. The photos of his that I really adore are the 1950's and 60's shots, but he sadly died recently. Ok so some of you may have guessed who I'm talking about as he is quite a prolific figure in the fashion world.

I is for Irving Penn

Here are my favourite of his photos.

As I said he sadly dies on 7th October this year at the grand old age of 92. In his life time he managed to have over 150 of his photos featured in Vogue plus a number of covers. He was first asked to photograph the Paris Collection for the magazine in the 40's (I think). He specialised in minimal photography where he put the models against stark angular backgrounds which allowed the models and the fashion to be the central focus of the photo. He was also well known for his close up portraits of prominent figures of the time.

Alphabet city - H

Sorry but a very brief post for today, as Im off to see Twilight New Moon soon, then I have to go to work. But I wanted to get my Alphabet City post done before I went.

Again it was easy to choose this one. She is quite possibly the most beautiful women ever!

H is for Heidi Klum (obviously!)

She is not only an amazing model, with a great Victoria Secret's contract, she is also a TV presenter (Project Runway), an actress (The Devil Wears Prada, The life and Death od Peter Sellers, Ella Enchanted, Blow Dry) and has her own line of shoes, jewellery and candy. She is a one woman enterprise. And is also still number 2 in the 'Money Girls' chart on models.com (only beaten by Kate Moss). She has managed to do all of this and have 4 children (yet keep that amazing body!) So here are some lovely photos of her.

Vistoria Secret's Catwalk 6 weeks after giving birth!

Alphabet city - G

I just watched the final of America's Next Top Model, I shant say who won in case you haven't seen it yet but I wasn't really that suprised. But watching it gave me my letter G for today as he was on it. So..

G is for Gilles Bensimon

I had seen lots of his stuff well before today but was just inspired by his ANTM shoot to use him as my post for today. His photography is always simple and not way out but I think his work is beautiful and makes his models look stunning. Although he is not afraid to make them look a little awkward or to allow a little of their personality through. They often look fragile or the compete opposite and incredibly empowered. Here are a few of his pictures that I love. Oh but the first is a picture of him.

I love this one of Sarah Jessica Parker and the one of Madonna.

Hope you all like his work too
