A gift from my sponsor!

I received a parcel from my wonderful sponsor Alex Keller yesterday. She had told me she was going to send me a little birthday parcel so I was very excited when it arrived. (Not literally when it arrived as I was fast asleep when the post man rang the door, I had to nudge Jon out of bed, like I always do, and he had to go down and get it, but I was excited after then when I had woken up and worked out who the hell was sending me parcels from the States. Anyway...)

Here is what I got?
A Key Bohemian Wrap Bracelet
A 'Key to Love' necklace
and
A 'You are Beautiful' pocket mirror

Aren't they pretty!
I have been wearing the necklace tonight in work and actually got a few comments. So I am so pleased with it.

If you like my new jewellery, why not visit Alex Keller's Etsy shop and get your own!

If you are interested in becoming a Daisy Dayz Blog sponsor please email or message me for details. Look forward to hearing from people.

60's Themed Fancy Dress

It was my mother-in-law to be's hen do on the weekend and it was 60's theme fancy dress so I figured I would show you my make shift outfit.
Dress: Primark
Waistcoat: H&M
Tights: Vintage Mary Quant
Shoes: ASOS
Necklace: Vintage
Bangles: via Ebay
Hairband: Random
Belt: Random
Eyelashes: Girls Aloud Kimberly
We decided to go with the hippy 60's theme rather than the mod (twiggy-esque) theme. Thank god as I had nothing to wear! This dress was a last minute find at Primark (fancy dress is exempt from my shopping ban if there is a theme I can't do from my current wardrobe)
This was actually the first time every for me to apply false eyelashes. Although I didn't get them perfect (they need to be a little closer to my lashes) I was pretty happy with them and I was majorly happy with how cool they looked and I got lots of comments. The little red gems were added later as one of the party brought them along to make flowers on our cheeks, but I thought just the 2 red dots were better.
What do you think? Does anyone have any tips for applying false lashes?
These were a total bargain, they only cost me 99p at Home Bargains and I got the Nicola pair too, they have little tiny silver butterflies on them, so will have to try those next time.

Everybody, Everywear - Lace

I decided to take a subtle approach to this months Everybody Everywear. The chosen item was Lace and although I have lots of lace items I really wanted to try styling an item I had had in my wardrobe for a while. It was a swap item (from ages ago) from Frances Joy of Mad Dress Game and it has just a hint of lace on the shoulders.
Dress: Missimo Supply Co swap item from Patty Anne of AlphaBetaChic
Top: Vintage swap item from Frances Joy of Mad Dress Game
Shoes: Peacocks
Earrings: Miss Selfridge
Ring: Dorothy Perkins
Necklace: Birthday gift from my sister
Bangles: Vintage
It's not really a colour I usually wear but I hope I made it work. It also came with a matching dress but I have yet to try and tackle that. I thought the top would be an easier place to start.
See it really does have lace!

Lace | Everybody, Everywear

So do you like my subtle lace approach? Who else joined in on this months Everybody Everywear? I think lace was a great choice its very pretty and feminine and great for the summer.

I shall be trying my best to get back into blogging but at the moment I am trying to get myself into a pattern for my intership and working the pub. Plus we are moving flat in like 2 weeks so the whole place is covered in boxes and we seriously need to get organised, so blogging may be a bit haphazard until we are settled into the new place.

A wedding outfit and some fishies!!

Ok so this is my first outfit post in a long time, and I apologise. As a few of you know I am now interning for a local magazine, so have been super busy with that. Plus we are moving to a new flat on the 1st July so are in the middle of packing. Meaning everything is a bit chaotic here. But a few weekends ago me and Jon went to a friends wedding in Bournemouth, so here is my outfit.
Dress: c/o Fever London
Cardigan: Voyelles
Shoes: Dorothy Perkins (you can't see them, but it's my bright blue ones)
Clutch: c/o Red Ruby Rose
Fascinator: borrowed from my mum
And the beautiful Bride and Groom, Claire and Jon
The Bridal Party
And their gorgeous baby Darcey
How do you think a Navy hat suits me? Lol.
On to the Fishies!!
As we were down in Bournemouth we figured we should visit the beach before we came back, but it got very wet and windy so we ended up in the aquarium instead. Jon managed to get some great pictures of all the fun creatures.
Have no idea what this fish was called but I love this photo Jon took. He looks like he is talking to us.
A giant sea turtle, who we watched being fed (lettuce and cabbage leaves)
A pretty coloured starfish
A traditional Clown Fish
The Picasso Fish, I think he was my favourite!

Have you been to any weddings this summer? This was the first of 3 for us.

Friend Friday: Summer Trends

So it's Friday already and I have been gone all week, so sorry been uber busy with intern work and packing for our move. But I finally have a few minutes to out together an FBFF post for you all. This weeks topic is our 5 fav summer trend. So here are mine.
Fringe Bags
Bag £32.99 River Island
I shall be digging out my fringed bag to add this great hippy trend to my summer wardrobe
Floral Shorts
Shorts £45 Fever London.
I would really love to buy these shorts if it wasn't for my ban, I think floral shorts are super cute! Will be wearing my braced ones again.
Palazzo Pants
Trousers £30 AX Paris.
I seriously want a pair of these, damn my shopping ban! They are so fun and pretty.
50's style dresses (or fit and flare as the high street is calling them)
Dress £38 Dorothy Perkins
This is totally my perfect style, glad I have a few of these already in my wardrobe. (including this one!)
Vintage Feminine Prints
Skirt £14.99 (one sale!) River Island
These are so delicate and pretty.

I'm feeling a bit of a floral trend which I didn't notice when I was choosing the items. But it is summer after all.
To see all the other FBFF ladies posts just visit Modly Chic

What are you looking forward to wearing this summer?
I am finding my ban hard at the moment as I feel 50% of the clothes on the high street are totally my style, which is very unusual as I am usually very uninspired by high street items. Last year I swear I liked less than 10% of the clothes available. Do you ever feel like that?
