60's Themed Fancy Dress

It was my mother-in-law to be's hen do on the weekend and it was 60's theme fancy dress so I figured I would show you my make shift outfit.
Dress: Primark
Waistcoat: H&M
Tights: Vintage Mary Quant
Shoes: ASOS
Necklace: Vintage
Bangles: via Ebay
Hairband: Random
Belt: Random
Eyelashes: Girls Aloud Kimberly
We decided to go with the hippy 60's theme rather than the mod (twiggy-esque) theme. Thank god as I had nothing to wear! This dress was a last minute find at Primark (fancy dress is exempt from my shopping ban if there is a theme I can't do from my current wardrobe)
This was actually the first time every for me to apply false eyelashes. Although I didn't get them perfect (they need to be a little closer to my lashes) I was pretty happy with them and I was majorly happy with how cool they looked and I got lots of comments. The little red gems were added later as one of the party brought them along to make flowers on our cheeks, but I thought just the 2 red dots were better.
What do you think? Does anyone have any tips for applying false lashes?
These were a total bargain, they only cost me 99p at Home Bargains and I got the Nicola pair too, they have little tiny silver butterflies on them, so will have to try those next time.

Hipstamatic fun

Hipstamatic! Yes I have discovered it, and it is fun. Jon has an iphone and got this app and has been playing with it lots. So here are some random shots from an old outfit shoot we did.
H&M Dress
H&M Vest
Peacocks Shoes

H&M Dress
Fashion Union Cardigan
Mustang Shoes (Via TKMaxx)

Fashion Union Cardigan
Dorothy Perkins Dress
NewLook Shoes
This is actual a new outfit. Jon snapped these while we were out taking photos of waterfalls in Gnoll Park.
This jumper was my treat to myself last month. It was only £5 (Originally £25) in the Zara sale. I'm not usually a jumper girl and rarely wear prints like this, but I just fell for this awesome Polar Bear print.
Zara Jumper
Apple Bottom Jeans
Converse Shoes
These 2 aren't hipstamatics obviously.

So onto other things:
I got given the Versatile Blogger award this week by Lucky Dame
This means I have to give you 7 facts about me and pass it onto 10 bloggers. I decided to do this a little differently to how I usually would and did it as a vlog post. Now Im not usually a fan of being in front of the camera so this is a first, and depending on how it is received it may well be a last. So here is you first glimpse of the real me. I am Welsh so I apologise for my accent although I don't think it really comes through much on the video.

So the bloggers were:
1. Tia
2. Miki
6. Liz
9. Ali

Plus I forgot to say that this is my hair after being dyed. Its not a huge difference but it is a bit darker than what it was before!
So I hope you liked my first Vlog, if you would like me to do some more, or have something in specific you would like me to vlog on, just say in the comments and I shall try my best!

Bye for another day!

30 for 30 challenge - Day 10 & 11

On we go with the 30 for 30 challenge. Day 10's outfit was for a BBQ at a friends.
Outfit made up of 6+10+18+29
6. Florence and the Machines
10. H&M
18. Next
29. NewLook
+
Primark Bracelets
Primark Tights

Day 11's outfit was for the Wow Festival in Cardiff Bay (photos tomorrow I promise).
Outfits made up of 4+10+21+30
4. Bianca Nygard
10. H&M
21. Peacocks
30. Jasper Conran (I clearly wear these too much!)
+
Hand Made Necklaces
Oasis Hat
Vintage Necklace as bracelet
Primark Tights
Boot necklace is made from a vintage monopoly piece. The next necklace is up cycled from a broken vintage necklace. And the longest one I made from some bits of left over black chain, a broken bracelet and a few random beads.

I decided to get a little technical with my challenge and look at what my most versatile pieces are and which I gravitate towards more. And to possibly try and stop wearing the same items so much. So I made a little graph! Yay! This is the number of times each item has been worn up to day 11, so just over a third of the way into the challenge.

Sorry the text is small but it is the only way I could get it all to fit. The items run as they are numbered from left to right. (graph made here)

So that is my geekiness out of the way for now. I shall do another graph at Day 20, to see how things have changed.

New Pretty Reckless song out!! Hope you like!
